Burna Boy's five nominations for the 2024 NAACP Image Awards are all rejected.

At the 55th NAACP Image Awards in 2024, Nigerian music sensation Burna Boy was disappointed not to win in any of his five nominated categories.

The inaugural evening of the esteemed event took place virtually on Monday, March 11, 2024, with the awards ceremony.

With five separate categories of recognition, Burna Boy emerged as the African artist with the most nominations. For Sittin’ On Top of the World with 21 Savage, he was nominated for Outstanding Male Artist, Outstanding International Song, Outstanding Hip-Hop/Rap Song, Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration, and Outstanding Album. For I Told Them, he received the Outstanding Male Artist nomination.

However, despite his notable presence in multiple categories, Burna Boy was unable to secure a win in any of them, losing out to other artists.

The NAACP Image Awards are renowned for celebrating exceptional achievements and representation of people of color across various fields, including film, television, music, and literature.

While Burna Boy’s defeat may come as a disappointment to his fans and supporters, the event also highlighted significant moments of triumph, pincluding Tems and Davido’s win.

Tems and Davido’s victories showcases the growing international influence of Afrobeats and the artistic prowess of Nigerian musicians.
