Korede Bello: The Reason I Choose to Release My Album in 2024
Following off his recent hit with Don Jazzy and his milestone birthday, Korede Bello is releasing a new album soon. Regarding his choice to release his new album in 2024, Korede Bello spoke candidly.
Korede Bello, a singer from Nigeria, recently discussed his decision to release his new album in 2024 in an interview with Punch News. The God Win crooner gave an explanation for the wait for new songs, saying that he purposefully waited for this leap year because it has particular meaning for him. As to Korede Bello’s statement, the album represents his support for mental health awareness and is a personal gift.
“I guess I was waiting for my birthday,” he remarked. I always have to wait four years because I was born on February 29 on a leap year
to celebrate my birthday. The album was created around ‘Kore Day’, my birthday. It is a story of Kore’s Day—a birthday gift to myself. It is an intimate project created to feel like a therapy session, which is a subtle nod to the mental health advocacy I do”
The former Mavins artist, regarded as a leap-year baby, has set the release date for his upcoming album. The album Koreday drops on March 22, 2024. The singer described the 18-track album as his “best body of work yet” showcasing his artistic growth and evolution.
He has a few things to say about the new generation of artists. He said “My only concern is that the younger the people in the industry get, the lower the quality of stories (songs) we will get to hear. What I mean is that artistes usually create art from their experiences; so, when a lot of sixteen-year-olds, for instance, get a shot at fame, they can only share from the limited scope of experiences they have”.
