Tyla cancels her globe tour because of her health

Due to a personal health issue, South African sensation Tyla, whose breakthrough song “Water” catapulted her into the spotlight, has been forced to suspend her stratospheric rise.

The Grammy Award winner was scheduled to go on her maiden headline tour, enthralling fans in Europe and North America along the way, with a much awaited appearance at Coachella.

But today, Thursday, March 7, 2024, Tyla sent a heartfelt announcement to her fans, saying that she has been fighting “agonizing” suffering in silence, which has caused her to cancel all of her tour dates.

Tyla wrote a poignant letter to her followers, thanking them for their everlasting love and support during her journey.

She disclosed that despite seeking medical assistance, her condition has only worsened over the past year, compelling her to prioritize her long-term health and safety over her career aspirations.

She wrote, “As much as this is something I would rather have dealt with privately, Its important that I share what I have to share with you today. For the past year I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened. I’ve seen doctors and specialists with high hopes but the pain has only become more agonizing as has the severity of the situation.”

“I am absolutely heartbroken to have to say this but as of right now I won’t be able to proceed with the tour. In consulting with medical professionals it’s become increasingly clear that continuing any festival or tour dates would jeopardize my long-term health and safety. Words cannot describe my frustration at this pivotal point in my career,” She expressed.

“So please know that my team and I are working diligently on a spectacular show for you as soon as I am recovered and ready to return safely onstage this summer. For North American headline dates, your tickets will automatically be refunded, for all other territories you will be contacted by your ticket provider regarding options, please keep a look out for new dates and information,” She added.

The cancellation of her tour comes as a devastating blow to Tyla, who described her frustration at this pivotal moment in her burgeoning career. However, she assured her fans that she and her team are diligently working on crafting a spectacular show for when she is fully recovered and ready to return to the stage, targeting a summer comeback.

For fans holding tickets to her North American headline dates, refunds will be issued automatically, while those in other territories will be contacted by their ticket providers regarding options for refunds or rescheduled dates.

Despite this setback, Tyla’s debut, self-titled album is still slated for release on March 22, 2024, offering fans a glimpse into her musical prowess while they await her triumphant return to the stage.
